Meanwhile, tensions over immigration are rising in Ireland, exacerbated by a housing crisis that has led some asylum seekers to live in tents. In the year leading up to April 2023, over 140,000 immigrants arrived in Ireland, marking a 16-year high, with net inward migration increasing by 50% compared to the previous year.
