So there I am trying to film a ice drop into a cup, and Loki (the kitten) climbs up on the table under the lights to investigate. It became rather evident that I would not be able to finish the shoot until I found something to entertain Loki with. Before I tried to distract her, I decided to take a few clips of Loki. It wasn’t easy, and oh boy, I now have an appreciation for people who take portraits of animals. I am running a Blackmagic Ursa Mini 12K with a PL manual focus cine lens. The lighting is soft, but very focused. And Loki wasn’t taking directions from the director, and refused to position herself on the mark. Still, I managed to get several clips…just enough for 30 seconds of cuteness. After a quick round of off-the-clock color correction and color grading (not too much since I wasn’t getting paid for it) and presto, here it is. Please enjoy.
Oh, BTW, my wife said I should get a model release from Loki. I haven’t gotten one yet. I bet Loki wants to discuss it with her manager first. My people will have to contact her people. (LOL)
