1-22-23 The First Two Words of Christ

Sometimes in worship we focus on “The Seven Last Words of Christ,” and by that I mean the last words that were spoken by Jesus from the cross. During Lent and Holy Week we often meditate on these words and study them in small groups. I find it deeply moving to spend time with these scriptures. Today, we are going to take a moment to look at “The Two First words of Christ” as he began his public ministry. In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus invited people to “Repent” and to “Follow” him. What does it mean to “repent” and “follow”? We will explore that in worship today.
