Take a look at the highlights of our Old Master Paintings spring auction on 24 April 2024.
One of the main works was painted by an artist who is generally regarded as one of the most important protagonists in art history, namely Francisco de Goya (1746-1828). It is a preparatory study for his famous painting of the royal family of King Carlos IV in the Prado in Madrid.
The painting The Fruit Seller also deserves great attention. Louyse Moillon, who came from a family of painters and was one of the few female artists of her time, was one of the first to combine still lives with figures. Old masterly depictions can be found on an extraordinary auction item from the 17th century, a night clock decorated with gemstone marquetry by the clockmaker Pietro Tommaso Campani.

Furthermore, selected works by artists such as Jusepe de Ribera, called Lo Spagnoletto, Hendrick Avercamp, Jacob Jordaens or Sebastiano Ricci will be up for bid.
