PERCHE STUBBS?
stubbs era un gatto, è stato abbandonato insieme ad altri fratelli in una scatola nella città di Talkeetna in Alaska e trovato dal cittadino Lori Step, il carissimo lori decise di prendersene cura di uno solo, un gatto senza coda e chiamarlo Stubbs.
Talkeetna è un buco di città con all’epoca solo 800 abitanti, fu grazie all’attività di Lori, Nagley Store che stubbs si fece conoscere da tutto il paese poggiato sul bancone del negozio, Nel 1998 talkeetna era considerata più un distretto storico che una città, non hanno mai avuto una figura che avrebbe dovuto difendere gli interessi dei cittadini rappresentandoli, cosi sentendosi abbandonati decisero di tenere un’assemblea in segreto al Nagley store, non soddisfatti dei candidati in corsa si fecero sentire con un particolare gesto di protesta, eleggendo il gatto Stubbs a primo cittadino, con la carica onoraria di sindaco, possedeva un proprio ufficio nel negozio dove numerosi turisti accorevvano da ogni parte per accarezzarlo, era solito bere acqua con erba gatta in un bicchiere per margarita, amato da tutta la cittadina mantenne il titolo per 20 anni fino al giorno della sua morte 21 luglio 2017.

Il nome Stubbs è un’omaggio a questa storia e al gatto color miele

WHY STUBBS?
Stubbs was a cat, abandoned along with other siblings in a box in the town of Talkeetna, Alaska. He was found by a citizen named Lori Step. Lori, dear to Stubbs, decided to take care of only one of them – a tailless cat – and named him Stubbs.
Talkeetna, with just 800 inhabitants at the time, was a small town. It was thanks to Lori’s activity, Nagley Store, that Stubbs became known throughout the country. In 1998, Talkeetna was considered more of a historic district than a city. They never had a figure to defend the interests of the citizens, representing them. Feeling abandoned, they decided to hold a secret assembly at Nagley Store. Dissatisfied with the candidates running, they made their voices heard with a unique protest gesture, electing the cat Stubbs as the first citizen, with the honorary title of mayor. Stubbs had his own office in the store, where numerous tourists gathered from all over to pet him. He was known to drink catnip-infused water from a margarita glass. Loved by the entire town, he held the title for 20 years until the day of his death on July 21, 2017.
The name Stubbs pays homage to this story and the honey-colored cat. The black cat officially representing my logo is Mitch, and I’ll soon tell his story too.
