Hello Everyone!
Keep the language in your script simple. If someone has to look up several words in script there’s a problem.
You’ll notice that most books you read are written with simple words and nothing too complex. I’m not saying there aren’t complex books. If you ever read a finance book you’ll understand the meaning of complex but that’s only because you are not familiar with the terms used.
Read a Quintin Tarantino script and I guarantee you’ll understand every word written without a dictionary�. That’s not a coincidence.
The same goes for an Alfred Hitcock script. I’m not trying to insult anyone but I’ve read scripts that seem like they were more like a college thesis. You’re not here to impress your professor, you’re here to write a story that the world can understand.
Back in the old days books were written for a select few people that could read so they knew who their audience was, rich, educated white males.
When you write a script take into consideration that English will not be the first language of the producer or executive producer you are pitching. So if you want to impress some
