Here’s a recent personal piece of animation from our founder Owen Rixon . Here’s what he had to say;
“During lockdown I became a big Ultimate Fighting Championship fan and discovered it through watching highlight reels on Youtube.
The fighter that grabbed my attention more than any other was middleweight champion Israel “The Last Stylebender” Adesanya and I was even more excited when I discovered he’s a massive anime fan, taking his name from The Last Airbender.
This is my tribute to an awesome fighter and an anime fan. I wanted to have him fight something non-human so I didn’t have to come up with other fighters. I’ve always loved effects animation so cloudy monsters seemed the obvious choice!
Designing Izzy and keeping his likeness was a challenge, but capturing his fight poses was even tougher. I had to watch a lot of his videos in super slowmo to get to grips with how he performs his moves.
I had an awesome time doing this one and hopefully will be able to animate some other fighters soon!”
