BBQ Spit Rotisseries _ About us

My name is Rhiannon and I’ve been the General Manager at BBQ Spit Rotisseries since we started in 2006. BBQ Spit Rotisseries was born out of a passion of charcoal cooking.

My business partner Tony he’d grown up in a Greek family and all the family special occasions were celebrated with cooking a lamb over a spit and he saw how cooking over fire just naturally brought people together to bond and connect so we wanted to bring spit roasting into Australia to make it more mainstream so more people could experience the great memories that were formed over cooking around a spirit roast.

Hi I’m Tony I’m one of the founders and chief technical officer at BBQ Spit Rotisseries and a head designer of Flaming Coals and their products.

Now we’ve been in this business close to 20 years getting pretty close and the thing that keeps driving us is not actually the money aspect which is a lot of what people think it’s trying to provide products and quality that bring people together and create lifelong memorable events.

I’ve put all my heart basically in the products that I make to make sure they are of equality that will not let the customer down that to me is the most important thing. We try to have products that will create lifelong memories that’s all it is we want people to use our products and be happy using it and just talk about how great this event was because of BBQ Spit Rotisseries and The Spits or Smokers they provided.

For me the mission of BBQ Spit Rotisseries is closely aligned to my own personal purpose which is to help people connect and form memories over cooking around a fire. Today everyone is so disconnected we’re all so time poor and even when you’re around the dinner table most people are playing with their phones, for us it’s about helping people form those human connections, reconnecting with family friends and bringing strangers together over cooking with fire.

The success of BBQ Spit Rotisseries really has come down to the strong team that we have built over the years we have the most phenomenal team that you can imagine from coming in early to open up for customers or doing deliveries on the way home or answering social media questions at 10 o’clock at night when someone’s preparing for a cook the following morning.

I could not have done any any of this without an amazing team they’re always here to help and educate our customers the next 10 years we’re going to be looking at continuing our great quality in products when customers come back and say can you do this we’ll take that on board and see if we can incorporate those features into our products to make them even better just to ensure that we still continue to grow and expand the way that we have.

The best thing that I love about the business is when we see customers come in for the first time and they’re ready to cook for a special occasion so they’ve got their child’s birthday party, an engagement party or their partner’s 50th they know nothing so they’re coming in as brand new novices and we talk them through all the available options we teach them how to cook on The Spits and then when they come back after they’ve had that special event and they show us photos on their phone and they they’re basically reliving that moment with us and telling us how great it was and it’s very rewarding to hear how our product formed part of that
